1. Before Election Day

Are You Eligible to Vote?

All Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above are automatically registered as voters.

Find Your Polling Station

Before polling day, check where you will be voting.

Voters can verify their voting information through the following channels:

Information available includes:

  • Voter registration status
  • Electoral constituency
  • Polling district
  • Polling station location
  • Voting stream (saluran)

2. On Election Day

Documents Accepted for Voting

Bring one of the following identification documents:

  • MyKad (Identity Card)
  • Driving Licence
  • Malaysian Passport
  • Temporary Identification Document
  • Receipt of Loss Report for Identity Card

3. How to Vote

Before You Enter
  • Bring a valid identification document.
  • Do not wear clothing, accessories or items displaying political party logos or campaign materials.
  • Ensure your fingernails are free from any substance that may interfere with the application of indelible ink.
At the Polling Station
  • Present your identification document to election officials.
  • Verify that your ballot paper bears the official stamp and serial number.
  • If your ballot paper is damaged or already marked, immediately inform an Election Commission officer and request a replacement.
Casting Your Vote
  • Mark an "X" in the box next to your preferred candidate.
  • Do not make any other marks or write anything else on the ballot paper, as this may invalidate your vote.
  • Fold the ballot paper as instructed and place it in the ballot box.
Important Reminders
  • Mobile phones and photography are prohibited inside the voting area.
  • Do not bring ballot papers into or remove them from the polling station.
  • Leave the polling station promptly after casting your vote and avoid loitering in the vicinity.
