PETALING JAYA: MCA national organising secretary Datuk Tee Siew Kiong has defended his party president's decision not to contest in the GE13, slamming DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang for "not doing his homework" before poking fun at MCA chief Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
"I must say that Lim's favourite pastime must be making speculations and coming up with theories on any news reports, as doing them require no responsibility.
"This must be his trick in how he got involved in politics," said Tee.
Lim had previously alleged that Dr Chua was not be running for public office because he had not “obtained permission” from Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Coming to Dr Chua's side, Tee said in a statement Saturday that Dr Chua had made it very clear that he had no interest in contesting in the elections, and that the party fully supports his decision.
